The Ariel Atom is a magnificent machine, but there's no escaping the fact that, to have proper fun in it, you really need a race track. Or a good road. Something covered in tarmac, at the very least. Not so the Nomad. The most exciting thing to come out of the West Country since the A303, this Is a lightweight that turns the entire world into your race track. Moorland, mountains, your neighbours' front lawn: it's all fair game in the Nomad. On the road, it's a ruddy-cheeked riot, how you imagined driving would feel when you were a kid pushing Corgi F1 models across the kitchen floor. Wrapped in that spindle of scaffold, you feel part of the machine itself, part of the very road, ensconced within the guts of the car, Honda engine blaring behind your head, rally-spec suspension chuntering away just beyond your feet. Off the road, it's even better, absorbing anything the countryside can throw at it, always coming back for more. Four-wheel drive? You don't need it. Just one of these and whole lot of commitment. The Nomad takes you places other lightweights simply can't reach.
