Beijing's Financial Street in the city's Xicheng District has grown rapidly since China joined the WTO in 2001. Wang Gongwei, chairman of Financial Street Holding, reviews the development process of Financial Street, describes the current status of construction and maps out his plans for the project, and tells how the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will give the business centre a boost. Wang Gongwei is chairman of Financial Street Holding, the sole developer of Beijing Financial Street. Mr Wang, a tall, open-minded, quick-thinking 50-year-old from Shandong Province, says jokingly that his hobby is work, but he enjoys playing golf in his leisure time.
