It is already clear that weather-related catastrophes are costing the insurance industry more than ever before. Despite the economic challenges, it would be an environmental and a business disaster for the industry, and indeed for nation states, to lose strategic vision on climate change now. The climate also needs to be a factor within every corporate risk management strategy. The insurance industry has a key role to play in helping to change attitudes.
