NORTH AMERICAN VS EUROPEAN G-SIBS: WHICH ARE THE FITTEST?

There's nothing quite like a period of economic disruption to test the banking system's stamina, and with economies on both sides of the Atlantic reeling in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, North America and Europe's largest institutions are certainly being put through their paces. Our analysis has compared the performance of the 23 global systemically important banks (G-SIBs) that are based in the US, Canada and Europe during the first half of 2020, looking at metrics such as asset quality, liquidity and operational efficiency to determine which G-SIBs are in the best health.
