'Stena Progress'-The first of four 65,200DWT twin engined tankers from Brodosplit

A tanker for navigating and transporting oil products through icy regions, with a capacity of 65,200DWT, was launched at Croatia's Brodosplit Shipyard in January 2009 for the Swedish company Concordia Maritime, then delivered six months later.rnAccording to Brodosplit, the Stena P-MAX tankers are characterised by good economy, high flexibility and a high level of safety. Their wider hull design means that they can load about 30 percent more cargo without their draught being affected.rnIn addition to having mandatory double hulls, the P-MAX vessels have two main engines in two completely separate engine rooms, double rudders and steering gear, two propellers and double control systems.rnAll redundant systems can be operated independently of each other, resulting in safer oil transportation.rn'Stena Progress' is the first in a series of four Handymax vessels which Brodosplit contracted to build for Concordia Maritime.rnThe vessel has an overall length of 182.9 metres on a beam of 40 metres with a design draught of 11.3 metres and a depth of 17.9 metres.rnThe vessel has a gross tonnage of 36,168GRT and a net tonnage of 19,654NRT.
