Delivered earlier this year, 'Wawasan 5' is a new cargo carrying landing craft from Malaysia's Sapor Shipbuilding Industries. Built for Kuching-based owner Jaya Coastal Marine Logistics, the Bureau Veritas-classified vessel was constructed to a design from local naval architecture firm Wong's Shipbuilding Contractor and Designer. This all-Malaysian collaboration has resulted in a highly practical and user friendly craft that should provide many years of hard-working service in the nation's busy coastal trade.
