'Cape St.George': The first of Austal's prestigious patrol boat order for Australian Customs

Austal's impressive track record saw the shipyard win the contract for the construction and initial through-support of eight patrol vessels for Australian Customs. The first of the Cape-class patrol boats, the 'Cape St. George', was delivered this year, and the last is scheduled for 2015. This series is designed for a service life of 25 years. With extraordinary structural detailing throughout the design, the vessel is strongly inspired by the Armidale-class patrol boat, built earlier by Austal for the Royal Australian Navy.
