Southern California was the place to be April 19 and 20 with the largest and most dynamic trade show of the year. The 2008 Model Airplane News Expo was held at the Fairplex in Pomona as part of the RCX show featuring RC planes, helicopters and cars. The Fairplex is the perfect venue for this event, and this year the aircraft contingent had its own exhibition hall and the cars and trucks were in a separate hall. With flight sims and indoor heli and 3D airplane demos, the action was nonstop. There was also a lot going on outside the halls as well with some outdoor heli and plane demos. The Model Airplane News Expo aisles were crowded with people who were treated to the latest offerings from manufacturers and distributors. Hobby Lobby, Hobby People, Kyosho, Thunder Tiger, Maxford USA, Align, Max Amps, Dymond ModelSport, Peak Electronics and Ikarus were there among many others. Hobby People's Super Store was consistently mobbed by shoppers looking for a good value. There were 96 vendors on display for the crowd.
