Small-business IT budgets up 15%

The annual information technology budgets of small and midsize businesses are up 15% this year, according to Spiceworks' "State of SMB IT" survey. The survey, conducted twice a year by the social business network for IT professionals, found that the average annual IT budgets for small and midsize businesses was $152,000, up from $132,000 in the survey conducted at the same time last year. The survey also found that 60% of companies have deployed or plan to deploy tablets over the next six months. The online survey, conducted in the first quarter, reached 1,498 IT professionals in 100 countries. Respondents were all from companies with fewer than 1,000 employees.
