Global ad spending to accelerate this year Global advertising expenditures are expected to grow by 4.9% this year, to $465.5 billion, following 3.8% growth in 2011, according to research and consulting company Strategy Analytics. U.S. ad spending is underperforming both globally and in Europe, although it also is on the upswing. U.S. ad expenditures are projected to increase 2.7% this year, to $152.1 billion, upfrom 0.6% growth in 2011. Ad sales in Europe are expected to grow 3.7%, to $136.3 billion, this year, accord ing to Strategy Research.
