A Legacy to Benefit Generations to Come

In the 40 years since AWIS was founded, the number and proportion of women obtaining science and engineering degrees has dramatically increased, particularly in the life sciences where women now outnumber men in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Yet despite many strides, women in STEM continue to face inequity in pay, promotion, and opportunity.
