On 22 June 2011, AWIS members took an inside look at the algal biofuel company Sapphire Energy. The rapidly growing, four-year-old company takes advantage of multiple technological breakthroughs to enable large-scale production of'Green Crude'from algae for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
