While news reports typically point to the public's perception of excess and greed as the primary threat to corporate business jets, there are other forces equally insistent on robbing executives of their winged chariots-engineers. Honeywell recently handed over one of its two $40 million Dassault 900EXs to its engineers, who will use it for an undetermined number of years to test, among other things, the next generation of avionics for business jets and airliners. The 900EX replaces a Cessna Sovereign previously used for the synthetic and enhanced vision system flighttesting from the company's Deer Valley, Ariz., flight-test operation.
