7 February: En Route From Dominican Republic to NYC On a JetBlue flight from the Dominican Republic to New York, a passenger refused to comply with instructions to wear a mask aboard the plane, threw an empty liquor bottle that almost hit another passenger, threw food and shouted obscenities at flight attendants, according to the F.A.A. The passenger grabbed the arm of a flight attendant and injured her arm. She struck the arm of another flight attendant more than once and scratched that crew member's hand, causing the flight to return to the Dominican Republic, the F.A.A. said. FAA recommended a fine of $32,750 for the woman. 22 April: Juneau, Alaska Alaska Airlines said that suspended Alaska state senator Lora Reinbold for violating its mask policies. Reinbold was seen on video arguing with gate agents at Juneau International Airport about the mask rules. "We have notified Senator Lora Reinbold that she is not permitted to fly with us for her continued refusal to comply with employee instruction regarding the current mask policy," the airline said in statement. Reinbold says she learned about the airlines' decision before any "due process" was conducted and that she was "reasonable" with all employees.
