At right, the deicing system schematic from an earlier Cirrus Pilot's Operating Handbook is reproduced, showing its various components. Importantly, this schematic depicts a system not approved for flight in known icing. Components missing from that installation and included on the FAA-approved system include TKS nozzles for the windshield and a heated stall warning vane (see below). Below, a diagram of the airframe depicts the location of the various external components distributing TKS deicing fluid, along with photos indicating how these items appear in the "real world."
