French Mirage F1s Leave Africa for the Final Time

After a 30-year presence in Africa, the final French Air Force Mirage F1s have left the continent. A ceremony was held at N'Djamena International Airport, Chad, on March 14 to mark the departures. Latterly, the Mirage F1CRs operating with France's long-term Operation Epervier Detachment at N'Djamena had been flying Operation Serval missions over Mali. This role has been taken over by Dassault Rafales.
