RAF Unveils 2013 Display Tucano in North African Colours

RAF/72 (Reserve) Squadron Tucano T1 ZF239 was unveiled on March 25 in these World War Two North African campaign colours at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, North Yorkshire. This year, the team decided to paint the aircraft in colours to commemorate the 70th anniversary of 72 Squadron's involvement in North Africa, supporting the Tunisian campaign during World War Two. The colours represent the Mediterranean Camouflage, comprising Dark Earth and Middle Stone upper surfaces, with an Azure Blue underside, worn by the unit's Spitfires at the time. The aircraft will be used by the 2013 Tucano Display team and flown by this year's display pilot Fit Lt Andrew Fyvie-Rae.
