Wednesday March 13, 2013, the day Imperial War Museum (IWM) Duxford had chosen to reveal its new permanent Historic Duxford exhibition to the press, dawned bitterly cold and blustery. In many ways it was the perfect day to find out just what happens at the Cambridgeshire airfield when the first of the airshow crowds is still a couple of months away and the resident warbirds are tucked up safely in their hangars.
