Republic F-84F Thunderstreak 53-6888 FU-177 sits on gate guard duties at Sanicole airfield near Leopoldsburg, Belgium and has been restored in the colours it wore with the 1st Smaldeel at Florennes. Originally coded 3R-G, the F-84F arrived in Belgium in spring 1957, serving until 1970. Between 1965 and 1969 it was stored at Koksijde, but returned to active duty at Bierset. In 1972 it was moved to Kleine Brogel as a decoy. It subsequently went on public display at several locations before being acquired for display at Sanicole.
