摘要

Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner N787BX (ZA003) is the first aircraft in the Museum of Flight's new Aviation Pavilion. Although the external frame of the Seattle attraction's new building is only about 50% complete, aircraft had to be moved in to enable the facility to be finished - and, given its size, the Dreamliner had to be the first occupant. Early on October 17, aircraft in the North Airpark were relocated in order to start moving the exhibits into the pavilion. With limited access to the new facility, everything had to be carefully orchestrated well in advance, including the removal of fences and electrical wires. The Dreamliner had to be moved back and forth, and the tug disconnected and reconnected, several times. Additional fencing was also removed during the process and wing walkers were placed around the aircraft with radios and portable horns. East Marginal Way was closed for the aircraft to reach the pavilion, and once the Dreamliner had cleared the road the museum's Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was towed across.
