A spectacular flypast from Goodwood was the highlight of commemorations for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain on September 15. Around 40 aircraft, mostly Supermarine Spitfires and Hawker Hurricanes, took off from the West Sussex airfield (formerly RAF Westhampnett) and flew in smaller groups across towns in southern England and the sites of bases used during the battle. The event was arranged by the Boultbee Flight Academy at Goodwood and was attended by Prince Harry. A service of remembrance was also held at St Paul's Cathedral.
