Saudi Arabia to Build An-132

Saudi Arabia will join forces with Antonov to build an upgraded version of the An-32. An agreement was signed between Saudi company Taqnia Aeronautics and the Ukrainian manufacturer in Riyadh on May 6 and production is expected to begin in the kingdom within two years. The new version, named the An-132, will feature Pratt & Whitney Canada engines and Honeywell avionics while boasting an extended range and increased payload. The agreement provides for transfer of technology and training with Saudi Arabia owning the intellectual property and engineering designs for the aircraft.
