Another Mosquito to be Restored

Avspecs of Ardmore and woodwork expert Glyn Powell are teaming up to restore de Havilland Mosquito B.IV DZ542 in New Zealand. This B.IV Series Ⅱ type is an example of the original Mosquito bomber variant, and will be fitted with a pair of two-speed single-stage Rolls-Royce Merlin 25 engines. Originally built at Hatfield in 1943, DZ542 was allocated to the RAF's 618 Sqn and shipped to Australia the following year for use in tests to develop the Highball bomb, which was never used in action.
