Dutch Aviation Museum Opens its Doors

The newly formed National Military Aviation Museum at Soesterberg in the Netherlands opened to the public on December 11. The collection of the former Military Aviation Museum is on show, together with items from Delft's now defunct Army Museum, and others. Among the exhibits are a Curtiss Hawk, Brewster Buffalo, a fully restored Douglas C-47 Skytrain and a McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle in 32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron markings. One of the most eye-catching displays is a World War Two scene featuring a Supermarine Spitfire LF.IX (albeit in postwar RNLAF livery) suspended from the ceiling, seemingly about to 'tip' a German V-1 flying bomb.
