The first of three Airbus A340-300s for Swiss-based carrier Edelweiss Air departed Manchester Airport after painting by the resident Air Livery. The jet (HB-JMG) flew out of the north- west airport on September 23 and joins the airline's fleet of six Airbus A320-200s, two A330-300s and a sole example of an A330-200. The new A340 has been acquired from Edelweiss' parent company, Swiss International Airlines. The latter airline operated this A340-300 from 2003 and named it Luzern.
