THE UK CM has disbanded the virtual airline it created to repatriate thousands of holiday makers stranded abroad following the collapse of Monarch Airlines. The final service arrived in London/Luton from Tel Aviv during the early hours of October 16, bringing to a close a two-week flying programme during which 85,000 passengers were returned to six airports across the UK from more than 30 destinations in 14 countries. Over the fortnight, the fleet of 60 aircraft from 27 airlines around the world operated 570 flights, accumulating more than 1.5 million miles (2.4 million kilometres) in the process.
