Saab's Gripen E completed its first flight successfully on June 15. Flown by company test pilot Marcus Wandt, the first prototype Gripen E (serial 39-8) took off from Saab's airfield in Linkoping at 1032hrs and returned to base 40 minutes later after flying over the eastern areas of OEstergotland and attaining an altitude of 13,000ft (3,962m).
