Orbx and its partners produce a wide range of airports to suit whatever your preferred type of flying might be. In this article we focus more on their international airports, starting with one in Norway. All the international airports featured are designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator.Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MFS), Alesund Vigra Airport is the first for the new sim from Norwegian developer Finn Hansen. The airport is located on the rugged west coast of Norway on the island of Vigra in the Giske Municipality. It's not the first time that Finn has created this airport; he already has an excellent Prepar3D version but MFS offers so much more scope for scenery designers. For example, this version has ultra-high definition PBR textures, a sloped runway and 15cm custom aerial ground imagery. It also features much higher detail in the architectural elements and some vehicles that are unique to the product. This is even more evident on the public side of the airport, where you can see FRAM Coaches, snow clearing vehicles, digging equipment and fully animated service vehicles. Flying into Alesund Vigra for the first time simply reinforces the beauty of this area, where snow-capped mountains reach high into the air, from the flat calm waters of literally thousands of fjords.
