KLM Retires Pax 747s

KLM officially retired the passenger Boeing 747s from its fleet with the return of its last examples, PH-BFV and '-BFW, to Amsterdam/Schiphol airport on October 25. The airline had originally planned to continue flying its six-aircraft Jumbo passenger fleet until the end of 2021, but withdrew them all in March this year as passenger flights were slashed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Three were quickly brought back into use as freighters to ferry personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies from China. The airline's three Boeing 747-406ERF freighters, which are registered PH-CKA, 'CKB and 'CKC, are to remain in service.
