To ensure that mechanics are in compliance with an aircraft, their maintenance information must be current and accurate. Moreover, accessing this information efficiently is crucial to providing timely and accurate service. However, for many mechanics, researching and managing maintenance information is a difficult and time-consuming task. This is because many sources of maintenance information, including microfiche and paper manuals, are cumbersome and inefficient. Filing and organizing microfiche consumes valuable time while paper manuals and parts books are incomplete, hard to read, and outdated.
