The Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Division of United Technologies has a huge facility located in East Hartford, Connecticut (USA). At one time, the company’s corporate airfield was located here. In addition to providing plant fire protection, the P&WA Fire Department was also responsible for crash, fire and rescue for Rentschler Field, located on company property, and over the years, had a large fleet of vehicles for this purpose. In 1966, Pratt & Whitney acquired a Walter crash truck which was utilized not only as a CFR vehicle, but a rescue truck as well.
