In the late 1950’s, the Seagrave Corporation, of Columbus, Ohio (USA) offered an airport crash truck, which was suitable for smaller airports. The “Seagrave Alert” model was offered on a commercial all wheel drive truck chassis. One delivery of an “Alert” model was built for Tri-State Airport, in Huntington, West Virginia, utilizing a 1957 International four wheel drive truck. It had a 250 gallons per minute booster pump, a 500 gallon water tank, and 50 gallons of foam in a rubber bladder. Additional extinguishing agents on board this vehicle were 150 pounds of dry chemical, and 150 pounds of CO2. The apparatus was equipped with a Rockwood foam system, which was comprised of a foam turret, two booster nozzles with applicators, and two ground sweep nozzles. The truck was also equipped with an assortment of other firefighting tools and equipment.
