JUNE 29, 2018 (ANCHORAGE, Alaska—USA) - A small plane crashed near Lake Hood. National Transportation Safety Board says the float-equipped Piper PA-18 took off from Lake Hood, when it lost partial engine power. The pilot tried to make an emergency landing at the dirt strip at Lake Hood airport, but fell short, landing on marshy, grass-covered ground nearby. An officer with Airport Police & Fire says two people were on board and one suffered a cut, but that it didn't require hospitalization.
