Brussels Airlines African Adjunct AirDC Plans Early 2008 Launch

Newly branded airDC plans to start operations early next year. AirDC is the new Congolese carrier Brussels Airlines, through its Pan African Airlines subsidiary, and together with Hewa Bora Airways is jointly establishing. The name is a play on words, with the "RDC" section the French acronym for the Democratic Republic of Congo. Network plans are still not being released. The fleet will comprise Boeing 737s and BAE 146 regional jets, operating from a base at Kinshasa N'Djili Airport. Johan Maertens, who was African Projects Manager for Brussels Airlines, will be the CEO.
