Airbus Passes 700 Orders Through August

Airbus sold 25 aircraft last month, including three A340-600s to Iberia, strengthening the aircraft maker's struggling four-engine widebody orderbook. The Iberia order brings the A340-600 backlog to 33 aircraft, while that for its sister model, the A340-500, is down to seven. Volaris, the largest customer for Airbus in August, bought 14 A319s, while Aegian Airlines' order for six A320s was the next largest in terms of numbers. For the month, Airbus maintained a flat book-to-bill ratio with 25 aircraft delivered.
