Talks with the unions of Alitalia to win their approval of Air France's takeover plans will not extend beyond March 31, warned Air France-KLM Chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta. Earlier this week, Spinetta met with the Italian carrier's union representatives, who expressed "a very critical judgment on the meeting," the unions said in a joint statement. "The elements of [Air Prance's] proposal on the perimeter of the company, employment, the fleet and the calendar for negotiations make any agreement and even the continuation of talks very difficult," said the nine unions.
