Cleaning a car might seem like a straightforward enterprise, but supplying the service to a highly professional level on an industrial scale isn't quite so straightforward. We are working for less now than we were 20 years ago."Part of that is the dealership consolidation -groups have got bigger and with that comes buying power. Then you've got the bigger players in the industry fighting over what is a saturated, mature market. Everyone's trying to nick a bit off everyone else and they'll do it a little bit cheaper. It's created a perfect storm. Everyone wants more-work and the consolidation means everyone is a bit cheaper because there's more of it."Martin Peters, sales director of Autoclenz Group, agreed: "I think 2018 has been the year of the tender. In terms of retail dealerships, there are clearly challenges with their own survival. Everyone's looking at their costs and looking to get better value for money. Which is a little bit challenging in our world, because we've got a double whammy.
