As we approach the induction of another Automotive Fleet Hall of Fame class later this month at the annual Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) conference in San Diego, I am again struck by the incredible stories of entrepreneurship and innovation that have long been the hallmark of the fleet industry. There are billions of dollars spent by fleets every year on vehicles, oil, tires, and the like. Those dollars go a long way toward keeping the manufacturing sector going strong, and keeping our friends in Detroit, Irvine, Nashville, Torrance, Herndon, Spartanburg, Atlanta, and Dallas employed. But there are also billions spent with service providers and entrepreneurial companies that are constantly developing new and innovative technologies to make the fleet business more efficient.
