PSA puts its DS3 small car into the world rally series

PSA has developed a rally version of its DS3 premium small car. The DS3 R3 will enter the World Rally Championship at the end of the year using a revised powertrain.rnThe car uses the samel.6 litre high pressure tur-bocharged engine that's in the road version, but instead of 115kW of power and 240Nm of torque it generates 157kW and 350Nm. The performance is achieved by replacing the air box, camshaft, pistons, connecting rods, exhaust,rnturbo system and ECU on the standard version with racing variants. The DS3 R3 will also use a semiautomatic gearbox.
