摘要

These days, drivers want to be able to plug their smartphones into their vehicles and have access to all the music, apps and other functionality that they offer. OEMs are meeting the demand by developing infotainment systems that use technology from the consumer electronics industry. Systems are becoming ever more intricately linked. With cloud computing and faster mobile networks, connectivity could eventually become more important than what's under the vehicle's hood. But until 1930, the only entertainment in a car was talking to other passengers. Paul Galvin changed this when he developed the first radio system specifically for automotive applications, Galvin was born in Illinois in 189S. When he finished high school, he found a job as a clerk at the Harvard railroad roundhouse before going to the University of Illinois. He didn't finish his studies, and left the university after only two years.
