Autonomous cars use Nvidia supercomputer

Volvo will use Nvidia's Drive PX2 supercomputer to power the 100 autonomous vehicles it plans to put on public roads in Sweden by 2017. The technology uses deep learning, allowing systems to dynamically adapt to their surroundings. As part of the pilot project, 100 XC90 SUVs will be driven on public roads by a limited number of Volvo customers to test the OEM's autonomous system. Volvo believes that the system is reliable enough to make every aspect of driving autonomous, and the Drive PX2 will help the OEM to develop its technology further.
