Farewell Davis station

Our Antarctic correspondent Dennis Cooper is nearly at the end of his sojourn in the frozen continent, Antarctica, and is starting to think of things like green grass, and a cold beer on a warm day. This is his final report. At the time of writing our winter season is just about over with the Australian Antarctic Division's (AAD) re-supply ship Aurora Australis due 19 October 2000, this being Davis Station's major re-supply for the year. The voyage departed from Port Arthur, Tasmania on 3 October 2000 after the embarkation of personnel and the calibration of marine science equipment.
