On Tuesday 29 September, police across Australia will gather at memorials, police stations, homes and other significant locations to pay tribute to Australian police officers who have been killed on duty or have died as a result of their duties since the advent of policing in Australia. Police Remembrance Day is a day of reflection that recognises the unigue nature of policing, the dangers that police face, and remembering the heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep their community safe.
