was a member of the NSW Police Force for some 39 years commencing in 1966 and retiring in 2005. His extensive policing experiences included General duties, Plain Clothed duties at No. 21 Division and a 12-month stint with the Pawn Broking Squad, CIB. Returning to Uniform duties, he continued his role in General Duties (GDs), while joinrng the Flood Rescue Squad, seeing action in both the Lismore floods of 1974 and 75 and along the Murray river. Transferred to Sutherland and then to Cronulla he continued on GDs while being appointed to command the police Launch Cronulla for some two years. In 1981 he was appointed the Commander of the No 24 Division Decentralised Police Rescue Squad and in 1988 was transferred to Randwick Police Station where he volunteered to command the Beats Squad. He was promoted in 1991 to Patrol Tactician at Waverley, and in 1995 was seconded to the Operational Readiness Audit Team at Police HQ where he performed duties for 12 months. He was then transferred to Paddington Police Station in December 1995 and became the Acting LAC of Paddington until its devolution in July 1996. Transferred to Mascot LAC, he then performed the duties of acting Duty Officer at the rank of Inspector until requested by Assistant Commissioner Marony to perform an audit of all Commands within the City East Region in relation to the Aboriginal Deaths in Custody recommendations. Shortly afterwards he was transferred to the Eastern Beaches (Maroubra) Command, where he eventually won at appeal the position of Inspector Duty Officer Redfern LAC.
