Nebbiolo, the king of the Italian varieties is cultivated in the north-west province, Piedmont, which means 'at the foot of the mountains'. Situated at the foot of the great Italian Alps, the village of Alba is the hub of Nebbiolo production and also Italy's other famous delicacy, the truffle.
