James Irvine has made an enormous contribution to viticulture and winemaking in Australia for 60 years. He has pioneered the growing of Merlot, Meslier, and also Pinot Gris in Australia, and his daughter Joanne has followed in his footsteps with her championing of Zinfandel. Wife Marjorie has been the glue that has kept the Irvine enterprise together. All, especially James, have encouraged young winemakers to follow their dreams.
