摘要

This book, the latest release in Routledge's Disruptions: Studies in Digital Journalism series, has the timely mission of infusing journalism theory and practice with foundational disciplinary debates in geography. It situates issues of power around discussions of place, space and territory and their relationship to journalism. The social sphere, it is argued, from which both Facebook and news media evolved, is a highly contested territory that warrants more scrutiny, especially with respect to the relationship between place-making and power. One assertion made is that digital tools and networks are now emphasized at the expense of a'feet on the ground'approach to the study of journalism as it relates to place and space.
