A latecomer to the world of CE, Samsung Electronics of Korea several years ago made a substantial investment in digital technology ― a good deal earlier than its contemporaries, believing shifts in demand for digital products would help it to unseat well-established brand names. Today, the company's expensive bet on digital is paying off, as demand for digital products outpaces that for analog. 'We are now poised to benefit from the booming demand for digital gadgets, because we moved earlier than our rivals in the digital arena and brought to the market solid product lineups," says Sun Hong Lim, director of strategic marketing with Samsung Electronics America.
