Council for Promotion of ITER Hosting Holds Meeting

On November 1, a meeting was held in Tokyo of the Council for the Promotion of Hosting the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), under the Japan Business Federation. The council was headed by Yumi Akimoto, chairman of Mitsubishi Materials Co. Following the intergovernmental meeting held in late October in Aomori, the council decided to hold a meeting to realize the government's decision to host ITER. In his opening address, Chairman Akimoto said, "It's a start. I hope we will be able to host ITER. To that end, we will ask for support and understanding from the financial circles and related sectors of the society."
