VirtenSys adds support for the Intel 10Gb Ethernet controllers in its I/O Virtualization Switches

VirtenSys Ltd., a provider of PCI Express-based I/O Virtualization (IOV) Switches for data centers, announced that it has expanded its portfolio of supported I/O Adapters to include the Network Interface Cards (NICs) based on the Intel 82598 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) Controller. The VirtenSys IOV Switches now virtualize the NICs based on the Intel 82598 10-Gigabit Ethernet Controller among multiple physical servers without any changes being made to the servers, operating system, NIC cards, or device drivers. Intel s 10GE NIC cards are used in servers and storage systems from leading OEMs and are deployed worldwide in enterprise data centers across multiple vertical segments.
